Lackawanna Ave, Scranton. Today the building houses the Scranton Hobby Center. The
building to the left, 515 Lackawanna Ave, is now the Coney Island Restaurant. Both
buildings are still standing. The
photo was taken on Nov 7, 1919 by Watson B. Bunnell, a prominent Scranton
commercial photographer. In 1919, his studio was located at 116 Adams Ave. in
the Clark & Snover Bldg., near the Hotel Casey. The original photo measures
15 x 20 inches. Along
the north side of Lackawanna Ave, a team of six horses is pulling a long wagon
holding an 8-ton girder. One man is up on the wagon holding the reins;
two men, one on each side, are walking on the street next to the lead
horses. The wagon was enroute to the New Wall Paper Co. at 116-20 N.
Washington Ave., around the next corner. A touring car is parked at the curb in
front of the Bronx Cafe, and three men are standing on the sidewalk.. Four
store fronts, with first and second floor businesses, are visible in the
photograph. Left to right: 515 - 1st & 2nd floors: Wm. F.
